How do I become a Disney Vacation Specialist?

I absolutely LOVE Disney and have been to Disneyland and WDW several times. I'm a stay-at-home mom who would like to make a little extra money by becoming a Disney travel agent(Disney Vacation Specialist). Has anyone done this? Have you actually made money? How much? Can you have your own travel agency, or do you have to get a host agency? What is the easiest way to do this? Are there any perks? Thanks so much!|||I am a Authorized Disney Vacation Specialist and I love it!!!

I am also a stay at home mother of three.

Check out some info on the link below.

What ever you do make sure you don't get put through the cleaners! I was just at a program in Disney with other agents all across the USA and some people were paying fees and still only getting 50% of the commission earned!

Do you homework and look around, I would go with someone who is going to give you training and support. Even though you have been there you will still need traiing on the booking end of it.|||I too am a stay at home mom %26amp; I just looked this up, WOW! How did this work out for you? When did you post it? please email me %26amp; let me know if you have the time, thanks!

|||I think that the best start would be to ask the travel agencies in your local area if they could "mentor" you in the process. The Disney reservation center here in Orlando IS hiring if you want to work directly for the mouse - personally I think that is even better since I have done both inside and outside vacation specialist positions! :) When I worked through an outside travel agency did get some perks like 50% off my stay at a Disney owned resort (with an IATA card which is something you get when you begin to book air in a travel agency) but if you working for Disney you get this offer too. After a year I would get a percentage of the commission which was nice too but nothing else...ofcourse all travel agencies are different.

Good luck to you!
