How to make disney illusions and special effects?

I am looking forward to becoming an imagineer for Disney one day, specifically in the "illusioneering" department. Illusioneering is pretty much responsible for making all the special effects you see through out any Disney ride such as the pirates of te caribbean fire, space mountain star field, haunted mansion ghosts etc.. Does anyone know how I can do little projects or learn how to do and create special effects/illusions. Thank you any help would be greatly appreciated.|||Get involved with some local community theater group. You can learn a LOT about stagecraft from the production of plays and events. Building props, lighting, special effects are all used in these productions. That's the kind of experience the ride designers at Disney have. There is no "ready made" course for building a "standard" working volcano, or convincing building fires, earthquakes, rainstorms or animatronic figures. These have to be thought out, designed and built by people who learn all kinds of different associated crafts.|||You can find may of their special effects online. I would try googling the effect you are looking for. After you figure out how they create the effect. You could try to recreate it on your own. One project you may consider is making a haunted house for halloween. THis is a great way to showcase your effects and possibly earn a couple bucks to create new ones. Not sure how much this helped, if you have any questions about how they create any of the effects at disney, just ask me, I know how most of them work.
