Where to stay in Disney World for just one night?

My husband and I are planning to take our kids (1 and 4 years-old) to Magic Kingdom for just one day in July while we are in Fl. We would like to stay close to the park but we are budget-minded. Is a moderately priced resort worth the extra expense compared to an All-Stars hotel or even hotel outside of Disney?|||The value resorts at Disney are really great! It's nice to stay on property %26amp; get the whole Disney experience. We have stayed at the Pop Century. It is our favorite of the value resorts now. It's the newest one %26amp; has a little nicer food court. It also has it's own bus. The All Stars share a bus, so it takes longer to get around. Our next favorite is the All Star Movies. The huge Disney figures make great photo opportunities. We started taking our daughter at 4 years old. It is sooo cute too look back %26amp; watch the video where we are on the It's a Small World Ride. She was so excited! She kept saying: Oooh look at that, Ooooh look at that....everytime she saw something new. Another wonderful memory is when we left breakfast a Disney Manager gave our daughter some "Magic Pixie Dust" (various colored dots cut from construction paper). He told her that when she got to the Magic Kingdom she should stand at the end of Main Street %26amp; blow the Magic Pixie Dust towards the Castle. She did that. This was during the 25th Anniversary Celebaration, when they chose some kids to participate in the parade. That afternoon she was oneof the chosen kids. We stood at the end of Main Street. The lead float stopped in front of us. Cinderella got off of the float, our daughter started out towards the float %26amp; Cinderella took her hand %26amp; danced with her. Afterwards Cinderella bent down %26amp; gave our daughter a hug. Our daughter came running back to us with a huge smile on her face %26amp; said, "That Magic Pixie Dust really works!!!" For the next few years I always brought along some "Magic Pixie Dust". We are going back in July for our 13th trip. Our daughter is 17 now %26amp; still thinks that WDW is magical, %26amp; so do we. Since your only going to be there one day make sure to check out the website %26amp; use Fast Passes (free), to save time in the park. Have Fun!|||stay at pop century, best value resort with good service|||How much to you plan to spend per night at a regular hotel? If it's less than the cost of a Disney hotel, would you be willing to pay a little extra for that one night?

If so, consider Disney's Value and Moderate resorts. The closest Value resort to MK is Pop Century: http://allears.net/acc/faq_pop.htm

The closest Moderate resort is Port Orleans, which has two resorts: Riverside and French Quarter. Here are links to both:

- Riverside: http://allears.net/acc/faq_dxl.htm

- French Quarter: http://allears.net/acc/faq_po.htm

Both are great, but FQ is a little smaller and a little quieter.

Be sure to check out the reviews for those resorts as well.

Hope this helps; have a great trip.|||i still say go to the grand floridan.. its just one night..spend a little..enjoy life..

proly be around $300 a night.

i have no clue what the other hotels are worth..i'm use to NYC and Northeast hotel rooms...and $300 is average....

i like staying at the building with the concierge service. Free food and drinks all day located in lobby that be around 400-450 a night.|||Well if it's only one night and you want to stay close to the Magic Kingdom I would suggest leapfrogging the Moderate and go straight to one of the cheapest Deluxe resorts on the property: Disney's Wilderness lodge.

You are a short 5 minute boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom, you get your own view of the electric water parade and you can get bunk beds for the Kids or do two queen beds vs the one king or 2 double beds at the Value and most moderates. (exception is Coronado Springs - they have Queen Beds in the renovated rooms) They also have a much nicer pool and hot tubs for relaxing after a long day at the Magic Kingdom.

The moderates and Value resorts are a bit far from the Magic Kingdom and the Wilderness Lodge is the cheapest of the resorts in the Magic King|||The closest moderate priced resort to the Magic Kingdom are the Port Orleans. (They are VERY nice...i liked french quarters better than riverside) 149 bucks a night.

If you are really watching your money, stay at Pop Century. Thats 89 dollars a night i think. Its the nicest value resort VERRYYY kid friendly (theyll like it the best of ANY hotel, even the most expensive) And it has its own bus so it will be a very quick bus ride to the parks.

Good luck.|||Howard Johnson Main Gate East. Thats where we are staying this summer and it is close to the park =)
