My family and I will be going to Disney World in Orlando on Dec. 19. I've heard conflicting reports on how busy it is during this time of year, so I am wondering if anyone could tell me for sure?|||My family went to Disney World last year on Dec. 28th and left on Jan. 3rd.
We will never do that again. It was so busy that we could hardly move at some points. The lines were long to ride anything. My father is disabled and it took us 45 minutes to get from the front gate to the castle (normally 5 to 8 min. walk) at the magic kingdom. Talking to cast members, they said the magic kingdom will stop letting people in at 10am because the park will reach capacity. That was from the week before Christmas til after news years.
If you have never been to Disney World, think about changing your plans til a week after new years. If you go when you say you are going, you might be able to experience 10 to 20 percent of the rides and shows. That's if your lucky. Best of luck because you will need it!!!!!|||Disney World is packed during the week of Christmas. There is no "conflicting reports" about it, it is just jam packed. There is a magic in the air that is fantastic during that time of year. Keep in mind that not only is the 19th the week of Christmas, but it is also a weekend, which means even larger crowds. You can expect long lines on all of the rides, and extra long lines on the more popular rides.
So, what can you do to make your day more tolerable?
Eat lunch, dinner, and snacks at odd times, not during the normal lunch and dinner hours to spend less time waiting in line.
Take your own bottled water with you.
Pack a sweater or lightweight jacket for the evening if you plan to stay late at night.
Take advantage of Fast Pass for rides whenever possible.
Head to the busiest part of the park first thing in the morning when the place opens and work on accomplishing as much as possible before it gets too crowded around 10am or so.
If you are not interested in the parade or fireworks, those times are a great chance to go on rides|||sorry i live in Australia but i can assure you that if school is out %26amp; it's holiday season it will be PACKED! I know people that have gone during the off peask seasons and still had to wait 3 hours for a ride.
I did hear a really cool fact though: if you really want to go to Disney World, then go on christmas day...quitest day of the year...cos everyone is at home opening presents :)|||conflicting? I don't know anyone who wouldn't tell you this time of year is the busiest at WDW. It will be packed. The park gates do close when the park it at capacity. Get to the parks early each day.|||Very Busy,
