Is it going to be like Pixar, when they make the movies but the Disney name is put on it? Will they start selling Marvel stuff at Disney stores?|||My honest guess is that it will be much like it is for DC Comics being owned by Warner Bros. Wait, DC Comics is owned by Warner Bros.? The Bugs Bunny people?
Yep.
It won't mean much in the immediate future. Marvel's movie deals are all tied up in other companies, like Sony (Spider-Man), Fox (X-Men) and Paramount (Iron-Man). It will take 5-10 years for those rights to all revert back to Disney. Marvel's themepark deal with Universal Studios also stands, at least for the time being. Plus, Disney has already been showing the old 1990's Marvel cartoons on their channel. The DVD releases of the X-Men cartoon were distributed by Disney.
The parameters of the deal seem to be that Disney wanted to acquire Marvel as it was, in order to get a piece of its pie. I don't think they really want to meddle in how the company is run. Therefore, I suspect that Marvel will be run fairly autonomously and mostly we wouldn't even notice it (how many people know that Disney owns the Lifetime, A%26amp;E, History and Biography channels? Or the Power Rangers?). Character merchandise might start to show up in the Disney Store, and there may be better liscening for them all-round. The Marvel website might fold into the Disney.com site. In another 10 years, MAYBE we'd start to see Marvel movies with the Disney castle intro and possibly characters in the theme parks.|||Best case scenario: Marvel merchandize just gets sold in disney stores.
Worst cases: Say goodbye to anymore movies like Iron-Man or anything with a higher than PG rating. Say goodbye to any Marvel character who caries a gun, has anything to do with death and any comic with violence in it.|||Mickey Mouse will have finally learned that with great power comes great responsibility. Then he'll become distraught and take off his ears, then there will be the Mickey clone who wear the blue hoodie. Finally he'll make a deal with the devil and it will all go back to the way it was originally. No one will remember him as Mickey Mouse, he'll be back to Mortimer.|||Disney bought Marvel for the same reason the IRAA likes to sue Grandmothers; they want more money.
At worst, we can expect a return to the Silver Age of comics.
At best, we can expect to see Spider-Man, X-Men, %26amp; Hulk in the next Kingdom Hearts.|||Well, here's an article to give you an idea of what this means for the Marvel and Walt Disney Companies...

潞o潞|||I'm looking forward to a Little Mermaid/Wolverine feature. Seriously, the Marvel characters will appear at the Disney theme parks and their gear will be sold in Disney stores, but hopefully not many other changes.|||Disney'll ruin it, just like they ruined everything else they've bought which isn't named Pixar.
